Sungjoo Foundation Donates ₩24,000,000 to Seoul Women’s Film Festival

On March 19, 2015 Seoul Women’s Film Festival (Co-utive Director Lee, Hye Kyung and Kim, Sun Ah) and Sungjoo Foundation (President Kim, Sungjoo) met and had a ceremony for the sponsorship of Asia’s Short Film Competition.

 

This is the second time to sponsor Asia’s Short Film Competition. ₩24,000,000 would be used to support female movie/film professionals to create a short film. Sungjoo Foundation will pick one grand winner, two first place and Sungjoo audience award and each would be awarded ₩10,000,000, ₩5,000,000 respectively.

 

Asia’s Short film competition is the only competitive section of Seoul Women’s Film Festival which was established in 2001. This section has served as a gateway to success for female producers by discovering talented individuals such as Jung Jae Eun, Park Chan Ok, Jang Hee Sun, Lee Kyung Mi ect.

 

Sungjoo Foundation is a non-profit women welfare foundation with the motto “With Women, For Women” and has been working actively in the fields of global networking, culture and arts sponsorship, supporting the underprivileged, and the unification of North and South Korea.

 

Sungjoo Foundation’s President, Kim, Sungjoo stated “I hope to see lots of good films about the perspectives of women, women’s position in discrimination and conflicts as well as talented female producers who would make the world a better place.”

 

The Asia’s short film competition lasted for 17 days starting from February 2nd and the finalists would be revealed early April. The finalist would compete against each other in the opening of the Seoul Women’s Film Festival on May 27, 2015. You may view to movies on their website; www.wffis.or.kr
